Tiny squishy Teddy’s
Reblog for TINY SQUISHY TEDDY. SO CUTE.
Making this ask rebloggable by request :)
Short version - the spark is gone :(
Long version -
This is a text post I made about a week ago:The chemistry between the characters is definitely there, but it’s an all -new formula. Gillen and McKelvie changed A LOT of things in YA, which is a good thing, because trying to recreate what Heinberg and Cheung did wouldn’t have worked AT ALL. They had to find their own voice and they did.
Still, I’m not overly enthusiastic about this new run.
I like McKelvie’s art - I LOVE how he manages to keep things fresh and interesting every issue. BUT Gillen and I see the characters in a very different way - especially Teddy and Kate. So right now YA is a book with a story that I like and characters I don’t always recognize. Which is why I’m anxious about Tommy showing up in issue #6.Since I made that text post, I went back and re-read the first 4 issues. I tried reading everything like it WASN’T a Young Avengers book but a new book – with new characters. I found it boring. Don’t get me wrong: I’m not saying it’s a BAD story. Because it isn’t. It’s just not a story I can relate to.
I said my piece on the original already, but short form - yes, this.
All of this, as well as the overbearing feeling that Gillen is laughing at us, not with us.
I don’t want someone sitting in the author’s seat yelling “FEEEEEELS” and “SCREAAAAMS” at us while deliberately mashing emotional hot buttons. I want someone on this book whose goal is simply to tell a good story with the characters that we came to know and love in Volume one. From what we’ve seen in interviews and ‘liner notes,’ I don’t think we have that.
I’m hanging on for now, but I’m looking forward to a change in creative team. I’m sure that Gillen is very good in other genres, and McKelvie is an extraordinarily talented artist. I’m just not invested in what they’re doing with what used to be my favourite book.
Reblogging again for Ardatli’s comment, because it also represents my opinion very well.
Thank you to you two!

Thanks for the reblog-able version.
I agree with you to a 100%. So everyone interested in my opinion about the new YA run, this is it, exactly. I would have never be able to describe it that well.
If things had been different…
#1 I bet Magneto would have liked to read stories to his grandchildren. And Billy would have liked to make them real.
Enjoy!

More Darksiders sketches!
Here are my comments to the pics:
First one: War and Death being cute. War’s all content, Death is a bit annoyed.
Second one: I like to think that Death, as a Firstborn, was created as an adult whereas the following generations were born normally. Either little War’s parents died or he just appeared mysteriously, but anyway, Death took care of him, adopted and raised him, much to the dismay of the other Nephilim.Fury and Strife are real siblings in my imagination, but their parents died obviously (not that Nephilim would be very caring parents I guess), but they raised each other somehow and survived together.
Third one: Yeah, that’s Young War being all like “Come at me, bros!”. I thought that young Nephilim, when they should be resting from between battles, like to brawl amongst themselves. And War certainly is the king of brawling, that’s for sure.
(Also, since he’s the ‘little brother’ of a Firstborn, they are as much afraid of him as they are jealous which means he gets a lot of shit like being attacked from behind and talked about. They call him Angel Boy to make him angry.)
Fourth one: Tiny War, Young War and Adult War! I had fun drawing those, was a good practise thing.
To show you what I’m working on at the moment and the reason why I’m not uploading that much lately…
I decided to start drawing on a little House Of M AU based comic. It will be Tommy-and-Billy-centric (I’m not pairing them, it’s just an important story of their past I made up). To give you a little idea I uploaded page 0/the prologue as a first impression.
Also, since I’ve seen so much awesome House Of M Young Avengers AU thoughts, art and fanfic around, I’d like to contribute to that and made a little fanlogo. Of course the logo is not bound to my version of the HoM YA stuff! :)
Feel free to use it! If you need higher resolution, just ask me. :D
Hola young! :)
(In English: The question is about the YA Reverse BigBang 2013 and how it works. Basically, in just one sentence: A Reverse BigBang means fanartists create art/fanmixes from which the fanwriters can choose to write a fanfic for. Almost everything is allowed, and everyone is certainly welcome!)

The angel wings are merely there to mock him because he likes to rip them out because of his ‘oh-so-angelic’ looks.
